Steel & Processing
From scrap to
STEEL
The production of quality, threaded and reinforcing steel occupies the central place in Max Aicher’s steel business segment.
Steel can be recycled any number of times – without any loss of quality – and is therefore an ideal material to be used in a closed internal production chain.
In addition to threaded and reinforcing steel for the construction industry, high-quality steel is produced in particular for the automotive, machine, tool and chain industries as well as plant construction and energy generation.
Wherever large-scale construction projects change the world, threaded steel from Max Aicher is used.

step #1
Scrap presorting & preparation
The steel of the Max Aicher steel companies is melted exclusively from sorted scrap. Sorting and processing are carried out in the company’s own shearing, shredding and flame cutting systems, among other things. This ensures the self-sufficiency of the company’s own steel mills with scrap.
step #3
Recycling material management
Two by-products that are produced in steel production are filter dust and ladle slag. By processing the filter dust with a high zinc content, the recovered metal dust can be reused as a raw material in zinc smelters. The ladle slag, in turn, is recycled throughout Germany and used, for example, as a lime substitute in industry or as a lime fertilizer in agriculture.
